1) Motivating Boys in MFL : Monday, 16th Nov. 2009
Minimum theory, maximum practice and provision of resources you can use next day!
Session 1 – Brief intro to how boys learn best / a dozen language starters and plenaries
Session 2 – Grammar, writing, using a dictionary: making potentially dull material more engaging.
Session 3 – Quiz formats, meaningful games, reading for a purpose.
Some material will be presented on an IWB, but has been carefully devised to ensure that you can apply it in a classroom using other media.

2) IWB for Maths/English/MFL : Tues. 17th Nov. 2009
Hands-on practice as well as presentations offering dozens of ideas for getting the most out of your Board (Promethean or Smart)
Session 1 – What the software will do, where to find built-in resources & hands on time
Session 2 – Lesson ideas, subject-specific tutorials (lots more hands on time!), templates for creating your own materials.
Session 3 – Sound, video, hyperlinking, the Internet. Demo of resources you’ll be taking back.
